Honey Ginger Winter Syrup

This is my absolute favourite thing to drink when I am feeling under the weather. Simply add boiling water, and enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 500ml orange juice
  • 100gr fresh ginger, sliced
  • 400gr honey

Makes around 1.5 liter

Recipe:

Place all ingredients in a pot. Add 500ml water.
Put a lid on the pot and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and let it stand for an hour for the flavours to infuse.

Fish out the ginger slices.
Heat the syrup again and pour into hot, sterilised bottles (I sterilise mine by washing them, rinsing and placing them in a 100°C oven). Keeps for at least 3 months.
