Garlic beans (BC)

Simple but delicious side that goes with lots of different dishes. I love it with grilled meat, but it also goes splendidly with cheesy pasta.

Ingredients:

  • 175gr green beans
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp butter
  • salt/pepper

Serves 1 as part of the Budget Challenge

Recipe:

Cut the tops off the beans.
Heat a frying pan. Melt the butter in the pan, then fry the beans on a high flame until browned somewhat but not wilting.
Add the garlic. Bake for 30 seconds. Add 3 tablespoons of water and bake on a high flame until the water has evaporated. You want the beans to no longer be raw but still remain some crunch.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
